Past prizes awarded by the Behavioral Finance e.V.

SAFE Household Finance Workshop

 

The Behavioral Finance e.V. awarded prizes for the best paper and the best discussion at the SAFE Household Finance Workshop. The workshop was held from July 11th to July 12th, 2024 in Bad Nauheim and was organized by Christine Laudenbach (Leibniz Institute for Financial Research SAFE).

 

The best paper and the best discussion were awarded EUR 1,000, each. The selection was based on audience votes.

 

Philip Schnorpfeil (Goethe University) won the best paper award for the presentation of his research on "Inflation and Trading" (joint paper with Michael Weber, University of Chicago, and Andreas Hackethal, Goethe University). 

 

Jasmine Chen (Leibniz Institute for Financial Research SAFE) won the best discussion award for her discussion of "The Dynamics of Stock Market Participation" (paper by Sigurd Galaasen, Norges Bank, and Akash Raja, Copenhagen Business School).

Cognitive Foundations of Finance Conference at Bocconi University 2024

 

The Behavioral Finance e.V. awarded prizes for the best paper and the best discussion at the Cognitive Foundations of Finance Conference. The conference was held from June 3rd to June 4th, 2024 at Bocconi University and was organized by Constantin Charles (LSE), Katrin Gödker (Bocconi University), and Cameron Peng (LSE). 

 

The selection of the best paper and the best discussion was based on audience votes. The best paper was awarded a prize money of EUR 1,000. The best discussion was awarded a prize money of EUR 500.

 

Peter Maxted (UC Berkeley) won the best paper award for the presentation of his research on "Credit Card Borrowing in Heterogeneous Agent Models: Reconciling Theory and Data" (joint paper with Sean Lee, Harvard University). 

 

For the discussion of this paper, Alessandro Previtero (Indiana University) won the best discussion award.
